a coworker’s WRX was parked next to a coworkers blue Golf R. Took a pic of both from the same angle and combined.

This has no chance of going wrong, at all, or anything...
Other people have to build Toyota’s sports cars for them, but now Toyota wants to be involved in the only legit AWD performance model that Subaru has left?
I am amazed. I didn’t think my disappointment with Subaru could grow much more. If this is true, and if it goes how I would expect... it could grow exponentially.
Here’s hoping it goes better than I think it would.

Can Toyota do the styling too? I’m pretty sure they have professional designers while Subaru surely doesn’t

The old one was ok, mainly because it was bland, and Subaru can do bland well enough . But the current one is just unpleasant, with all the odd slashes and surface changes . I assume they’re supposed to add tension to the design and make it look muscular or sporty, but it just looks flabby and cluttered .

bland was sort of the goal back in the day. looked like any other boring car, aside from a hood scoop, but then it’d be all noise and fury

This just in, the first Impreza looked like a Camry. The WRX/STi brainwashed us all into thinking it was a low, taut, attractive car. Really, the design is plain as can be. Such is the power of having a halo model .

Indeed, but where’s the big whopping turbo? I’ll wager the Impreza of the era was the faster car. If you chose the right Impreza ;)
